Chester - Mendham Youth Lacrosse
Sponsored by Chester PAA

Reminder about in-season practice attendance:  Regular team practice is required to learn to play lacrosse safely and to play as a member of a team on the field. If you have questions about our attendance policy as it relates to practice and game participation, please talk to your coach.

We strongly encouage every player at every grade level to practice stickwork on your own between practices.  You've made a commitment to your team to give it your best. Honor it.

Important policy information:
Some parents have asked questions about age brackets, team assignments and playing time - here are Club policies that may help answer those questions:

1. Players play the school-grade which they are currently in.  Age does not factor in a player’s team assignment.
2. Program open for boys in grades 2 thru 8. No players in first grade or under permitted. See note below about programfor K-1 players.
3. No player plays “down” (any grade below) for any reason.
4. No player will play “up” (any grade above) permanently.  The only allowable playing up condition will be when a squad above is unable to field a game team of at least 15 players (including goalie) and with the permission of both grade coaches, players and parents.
5. The Club strives for fair playing time for all players - exceeding the league rule of 1/4 per-game per-player minimum. But playing time may be adjusted down based on an individual’s attendance and attitude during practices.
6. Per NJYLL rules, all players must reside in Chester Township, Chester Borough, Mendham Township or Mendham Borough.  Exceptions will be handled on a case-by-case basis by the Board and with NJYLL approval before the season starts.
7. Refunds will be issued up until April 1 of the playing season up to 100% of the registration fee less the $25 U.S. Lacrosse fee.  No refunds will be issued thereafter for any reason.
8. Excused absences for practices include (but are not limited to):  sickness, injury, make-up tests, school-team practices or games.

* Note - Beginner lacrosse (a.k.a. "Little Kids Lax") will be offered for Kindergarten and 1st grade boys in April - watch the website for details.

Make sure parents and players read second page and sign. There is important information about player and parent conduct and playing time policies.

Club loaner equipment is available only for 2/3 grade clinic players and older grade players who are new to the program

f you are buying a new helmet, please buy it in
our club colors - Navy blue shell, red visor and chin guard. Our goal is to have all players in this color scheme as soon as possible. These are also the high school colors. The brand of lacrosse helmet is parent's choice.

New in 2008, players are asked not to wear their elite team uniforms for Chester-Mendham Youth Lacrosse practice or games.

Dear Chester- Mendham Youth Lacrosse Family,

Now that the 2008 season is over, it's time again to send in your end-of-season survey.

We're extremely interested in your thoughts about coaching, games, playing time, communications, etc...We look at these very carefully in the off-season, team by team and try to make the right adjustments to meet the goals of the Club and the commitments we make to our lacrosse families.

If you did not already get an e-mail from your coach regarding this, please cut and paste the following questionnaire in your email and e-mail reply ONLY to
yamash2@yahoo.com. It will go to Brian Haumersen, Club President. It is then reviewed by Board and coaches.

You are welcome to submit an anonymous reply. Just print this page, fill out the answers and mail it to:
