Team Descriptions
There's a place for everyone in Chester-Mendham Youth Lacrosse, regardless of skill, experience or athletic ability. All you need is a desire to play and a willingness to respect the game.
Please note that we expect regular practice attendance - Lacrosse involves contact. Team practice is required to play the game safely and enjoyably. If you have questions about attendance, please talk to your coach.
2/3 Grade Clinic – Practices during week, intra-squad games played locally on weekends. Some round-robin tournaments. 2/3 grade emphasis will be on having fun, learning the tradition of the game, skill development and very light game-like competition. Light stick checking permittted.
4th Grade Team and 5th Grade Team will have two practices a week with weekday and weekend games vs. other towns. Everybody plays, everybody travels. Emphasis on fun, skill development and moderate competitive action. No prior lacrosse experience or special athleticism required. Light stick checking permittted.
6th, 7th, 8th Grade Teams – Two or more practices per week. We play teams from other towns. Physical contact to be expected at older grades. Games are more competitive. Emphasis on skill development, fun and preparedness for games. No prior lacrosse experience or special athleticism required.
